Life with epilepsy can at times be stressful, overwhelming, and challenging to navigate; not just for the person diagnosed, but for their partner as well. Couples experiencing epilepsy face unique challenges together. At times a partner may serve as a caregiver, and with that comes navigating various responsibilities, over-protection, and concerns about well-being.
The EFEPA is launching a Couples Support Group specially designed for those diagnosed with epilepsy and their significant others. This new support group is tailored to the unique needs and shared experiences of couples facing an epilepsy diagnosis together, regardless of sexual orientation or relationship status. It’s our hope that we can overcome these challenges through our shared experiences, conversations and support for each other.
