The 2013 Summer Stroll, held on June 22nd, was a record breaking year. We had over 1200 participants that attended the walk that made it the largest Summer Stroll yet. Not only was it the biggest, but you helped us reach our goal of raising over $125,000 to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA’s many programs and services we offer throughout the year!
We were truly inspired by everyone who supported the Stroll, from the dedication to the cause to the incredibly creative tee-shirts our teams wore to support their fellow walkers. It was a wonderful experience to be apart of and we can’t thank you enough for helping us make this event the best one yet.
The Stroll is the EFEPA’s largest awareness and fundraising event of the year. The Foundation’s annual 5 mile non-competitive walk is held in Fairmount Park starting at Northwestern Avenue & Forbidden Drive in Chestnut Hill. The path takes you 2.5 miles along the Wissahickon Creek to Valley Green and returns along the same path ending at Harper’s Meadow for a light picnic lunch and children’s entertainment. The path is shaded and flat but not paved.
Over 900 individuals attend the event with family, friends, and coworkers to unite for the cause. You can join the EFEPA at our Summer Stroll by gathering a team or walking individually. Walkers get a chance to greet old friends and meet new ones while raising funds and awareness in our eighteen-county service area of eastern Pennsylvania. All participants who raise more then $50 receive a commemorative T-shirt.
